To explore a certain topic following a body of work, if possible reach consensus and if necessary set up a research agenda.
An OMERACT Workshop is a several hour session. As with most of the OMERACT sessions (apart from SIGS), all OMERACT delegates participate, as there are no overlapping sessions.
The aim is: To reach consensus about a set of uniform criteria. A Workshop involves small group work (breakout groups) as well as plenary meetings to talk about more mature topics. It is expected that Workshops will have specific areas to review and that some level of closure will be reached during any one OMERACT meeting, although it may require several meetings to finalize an entire agenda, particularly if new research needs to be performed.
