CONSENSUS

« Back to Glossary Index

Consensus is a general agreement or shared understanding reached by a group of people through a process of mutual discussion and compromise. Consensus involves a group of individuals who have different viewpoints and opinions coming together to find a mutually acceptable decision or solution. Consensus building often involves active listening, respect for diverse perspectives, and a willingness to work collaboratively to reach a shared goal. In consensus, every member of the group has an opportunity to express their views and concerns, and the group works towards a decision that is agreeable to everyone involved.
