OMERACT 2027 Scientific Program: Sessions Selected

We are pleased to announce that the Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions, Workshops, and Symposium for OMERACT 2027 have been formally selected following review of Working Group applications.

The 2027 program reflects the full breadth of OMERACT activity, spanning core domain set endorsement, instrument selection, composite outcome development, imaging, and methodological innovation, with strong integration of patient engagement and equity considerations across sessions.

Workshop/Plenaries

The 2027 workshops will focus on advancing methodological rigor and practical guidance across OMERACT processes:

OMERACT Methodology

These sessions are designed to produce actionable outputs, including guidance, tools, and frameworks to support Working Groups across the OMERACT pathway.

Symposium: Prevention and Risk-Stage Rheumatic Disease: Rethinking Outcomes, Core Sets, and OMERACT’s Role

This cross-cutting symposium will address a major emerging challenge in rheumatology research: how to define and measure outcomes in prevention and early disease states.

Key themes include:

Defining “at-risk” populations
Identifying appropriate endpoints beyond disease onset
Integrating patient-reported outcomes in prevention contexts
Addressing regulatory and industry considerations

As trials move earlier in the disease trajectory, this session will explore whether new or adapted core outcome frameworks are required, and what role OMERACT should play in shaping this space

What is an OMERACT Conference?

An OMERACT Conference is a biennial gathering of healthcare professionals, researchers, methodologists, and patient research partners who are committed to advancing the field of rheumatology outcome measures. The conference provides a dynamic forum for presenting and discussing cutting-edge research, fostering collaboration across disciplines. A hallmark of OMERACT Conferences is the emphasis on reaching consensus through evidence-based discussions, allowing for the development and refinement of outcome measures that are both scientifically robust and clinically meaningful.

The structure of the conference, with its plenary sessions offering high-level overviews of key issues and various working group sessions providing opportunities for more targeted discussions, ensures that attendees gain practical insights and knowledge. How do I register for the Conference?

Registration will be completed online through the OMERACT 2027 registration portal, which will open on November 1, 2026.

Participants will be asked to:

Select a registration category
Confirm eligibility where applicable, for example Patient Research Partner, Fellow, Emerging Leader, or Low/Middle Income Country
Complete payment to secure their place

Because registration numbers are capped in each category, early registration is strongly encouraged.

All-Inclusive Registration Options

Early Registration - $2,975 USD
Available November 1, 2026 to February 28, 2027

Standard All-Inclusive Registration - $3,475 USD
Available March 1, 2027 to May 1, 2027

Shared Room Option - $2,725 USD
Accommodation is shared with another participant

Four nights’ accommodation at the conference hotel
Ground transportation between Toronto Pearson International Airport and The Kingbridge Centre for arrivals on May 19 and departures on May 23
