Stratification refers to the process of dividing a population or dataset into distinct subgroups, or strata, based on specific characteristics or criteria. The purpose of stratification is to create groups that are relatively homogeneous with respect to the characteristic of interest, so that comparisons or analyses within each group can be more meaningful and informative.
