About the Fibromyalgia Working Group
The OMERACT Fibromyalgia Working Group is a global collaboration of researchers, clinicians, and patient partners committed to improving the quality and consistency of clinical research in fibromyalgia (FM). Since 2003, the group has played a central role in identifying core domains, validating outcome measures, and working toward composite indices for this complex condition.
Fibromyalgia is characterized by chronic widespread pain, fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive dysfunction, and other somatic symptoms. Its subjective nature and symptom variability have made standardized assessment particularly challenging. OMERACT has been at the forefront of addressing these challenges.
