Shape the Future of Core Outcome Sets: Become OMERACT’s Next Chair of Methodology!
OMERACT seeks a new Chair of Methodology, a leadership role within the Management Group. This position offers the opportunity to shape and guide the methodological standards and practices of OMERACT’s mission of Establishing and Implementing Core Outcome Sets for Clinical Research with a Special Focus on Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Medicine.


POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chair of Methodology plays a key role in maintaining the rigour and credibility of OMERACT’s core activities. As a Co-Chair of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and a member of the OMERACT Management Team, this individual will work collaboratively to advance methodological innovation, ensure adherence to global reporting standards, and foster a collaborative and inclusive research community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide decision-making leadership on methods used in COS development.

Co-chair the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and collaborate with other TAG Co-Chairs.

Maintain and update the OMERACT Handbook, creating standardized pathways, protocols, and tools (e.g., SOMPs, data extraction tables).

Develop and deliver educational materials and organize learning opportunities such as town halls and workshops.

Build external liaisons with organizations and regulatory bodies to ensure OMERACT’s representation in global guideline development.

Provide mentorship to working groups and support adherence to the “Spirit of OMERACT” principles, including Patient Research Partners (PRPs) engagement.
