One of the objectives of the conference was to develop consensus on the minimum number of outcome measures to be included in all RA clinical trials. Other objectives included the development of criteria for minimum clinically important improvement in RA patients, and minimum important difference between treatment groups in RA clinical trials; and study of the usefulness of aggregate outcome measures (indices) in the assessment of patients and trials.
