Component Measure

An individual measure within a composite outcome instrument that is combined with other component measures, using a prespecified scoring or decision rule, to produce the composite result.

Examples

For example, the swollen joint count is a component measure of both the DAS28, where it contributes to a weighted disease activity score, and the ACR/EULAR Boolean remission criteria, where it must meet a threshold of ≤1 for remission to be achieved.
